A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRESNO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION
OF A GRANT APPLICATION OF UP TO $400,000 TO THE
CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY TO FUND
BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY PROGRAMMING
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE
TO ACCEPT GRANT FUNDS AND SIGN ALL RELATED
DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, the State of California Office of Traffic Safety announced the availability of Fiscal Year 2026 grant funding in December 2024; and WHEREAS, the City of Fresno (City) Parks, After School, Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking authority to apply for and accept funding to provide bicycle and pedestrian safety programming to the community; and WHEREAS, the City, if successful, will enter into a grant agreement with the State of California Office of Traffic Safety for the implementation of grant funded programming.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fresno as follows:
1. Council authorizes the City Manager or designee to apply for up to $400,000 from the State of California Office of Traffic Safety F iscal Year 20 26 grant program to provide bicycle and pedestrian safety programming; and
2. Council authorizes the City Manager or designee to accept grant funds, conduct negotiations, execute, submit, and sign all documents including but not limited to applications, agreements, contracts, amendments, payment requests , and other documents which may be necessary for acceptance of the grant funding and
