WHEREAS, Central East High School's (CEHS) Pep & Cheer Team has exemplified excellence in competitive cheerleading, demonstrating remarkable skill, spirit, and dedication while achieving outstanding success; and
WHEREAS, CEHS JV & Varsity teams competed in the USA Spirit Nationals and the Varsity team placed 1st in the “Small Coed Varsity Show Cheer Advanced Division” and the JV team placed 1st in the “JV Advanced Non-Tumble Division”; and
WHEREAS, the Varsity Comp Pep - Small Coed Varsity Show Cheer Advanced team has showcased their superior talent and determination in the most competitive divisions, represented by: Alyssa Castro, Jaclyn Dauer, Makenzie Espinola, Zharia Mangum, Priscilla Morales, Ciana Sellers; and
WHEREAS, the Varsity Comp Cheer - D3 Dance CIF Section Title Champions displayed extraordinary choreography, synchronization, and perseverance, bringing home yet another title for Central East, with the following dedicated athletes:
Mailyze Arellano, Sariyah Bruner, Jaden Barbato Green, Madison Critchlow, Jaye Evans, Teirra Freeman, Bethaney Gonzales, Jazmin Guerrero, Noah Lujan, Destiny Martinez, Lily McCarty, Anais Sanchez; and
WHEREAS, the JV Comp Cheer - JV Advanced Non-Tumble team has demonstrated perseverance, teamwork, and technical excellence, making significant strides in competition under the leadership of: Alyvia Armstrong, Kayden Carter, McKynzie Carter, Farrah Granda, Yulianna Lazaro, Natalie Legere, Joslyn Mendez, Cerenity Pittman, Leilani Quintanilla Hernandez, Laila Thibeaux, Julianna Torres; and
WHEREAS, these athletes, along with their coaches and support staff, have solidified their program's reputation by securing various prestigious titles and these remarkable young athletes have demonstrated unwavering commitment, sportsmanship, and teamwork, bringing immense pride to Central East High School, their families, Central Unified School District and the entire Fresno community.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we, Councilmember Annalisa Perea, Mayor Jerry P. Dyer, and the Fresno City Councilmembers do hereby proclaim Thursday, March 13, 2025, to be:
“Central East High School
Cheer Team Championship Day ”
in the City of Fresno.
