CITY OF FRESNO
Office of Councilmember Annalisa Perea
WHEREAS, the Justin Garza High School Cheer Team has demonstrated exceptional dedication, perseverance, and teamwork throughout their season; and
WHEREAS, their unwavering commitment to excellence culminated in an extraordinary achievement at the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Championship, where they secured first place in the CIF State Championship in the “Varsity Small Division”; and
WHEREAS, under the guidance of Coach es Britney Audino, Alan Rios, Audra Martens, Haley Phelps, Jordyn Bea , Madison Smith, and Nyla Armstrong , the team has thrived, with their leadership fostering a culture of discipline, camaraderie, and school spirit; and
WHEREAS, we proudly recognize and commend each athlete for their hard work and achievements, as their victory not only brings immense pride to Justin Garza High School but also honors the Central Unified School District, their families, and the entire Fresno community; and
WHEREAS, we celebrate the accomplishments of the following team members: Maliyah Mendoza, Reagan Asklof, Mattie Cortez, Grace Baginguido, Hayley Hirata, Bailey Abraham, Khloe Flores, Marissa Estrada, Erika Kramer, Hope Huffman Hanlin, Jenae Alvarez, Jillian Ybarra, Shelby Downer, Lilyan Moncivas, Desiree Gee, Arlen Tiscareno, Lily Grace Goodrum, Karis Delgado, Savanah Bryant, Ahniah Snowde n, and Julianna Anaya.
Their success serves as an inspiration to future athletes, encouraging them to strive for greatness and embrace the spirit of teamwork.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we, Councilmember Annalisa Perea, Mayor Jerry P. Dyer, and the Fresno City Councilmembers do hereby proclaim Thursday, March 13, 2025, to be:
“Justin Garza High School
Cheer Team Championship Day ”
in the City of Fresno.
