WHEREAS: Isabella Marie Gonzales was born and raised in Fresno, California, and is an accomplished senior at Clovis East High School. She has demonstrated academic excellence as an honor student with a weighted
GPA
of
4.33;
and
WHEREAS: Isabella Gonzales has shown unparalleled dedication to excellence in the sport of wrestling. She is currently ranked as the No. 1 high school women’s wrestler in the United States in her weight class and
is
recognized
as
the
top
recruit
for
the
Class
of
2025;
and WHEREAS: Isabella has achieved remarkable success on the international stage, placing 5th at the United World Wrestling U17 World Wrestling Championships in Amman, Jordan, and securing three Pan American Games
Championships
in
2021,
2022,
and
2023;
and WHEREAS: Isabella's accomplishments in high school wrestling include winning three California Interscholastic Federation State (CIF) Championships, earning the Champion of Champions award in 2023, and being a
four-time
CIF
State
Championships
finalist.
Additionally,
she
has
been
a
four-time
CIF
Central
Section
Masters
Champion,
three-time
Masters
Most
Outstanding
Wrestler,
and
four-time
Central
Section
Area/Divisional
Champion
with
multiple
Most
Outstanding
Wrestler
honors;
and
WHEREAS: In addition to her wrestling accolades, Isabella has excelled academically, being a member of the National Honor Society, receiving the Principal's Honor Roll and High Honor Roll distinctions, and earning
the
Academic
Scholar
of
Distinction
award.
She
is
also
a
lifetime
member
of
the
California
Scholarship
Federation;
and
WHEREAS: Isabella will continue to proudly represent the City of Fresno and District 7 in her academic and athletic journey at the University of Iowa as a nursing student. Where she will be joining the two-time defending
NCAA
Division
I
National
Wrestling
Champions
on
a
prestigious
athletic
scholarship.
