A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRESNO (CITY), CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO APPLY FOR A GRANT OF
UP TO $ 180,000 FROM THE FRESNO MADERA AREA
AGENCY ON AGING (FMAAA) TO FUND FISCAL YEAR
(FY) 2026 SENIOR HOT MEALS PROGRAMMING AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO
ACCEPT GRANT FUNDS AND SIGN ALL RELATED
DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY (CITYWIDE)
(SUBJECT TO MAYOR’S VETO)
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the FMAAA will release a grant to fund Senior Hot Meals Programming in FY2026; and
WHEREAS, staff is seeking authority to apply for and accept grant funding from FMAAA to fund Senior Hot Meals Programming in FY2026; and WHEREAS, the City, if successful, will enter into a grant agreement with the FMAAA for the implementation of grant-funded senior hot meals programming.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fresno as follows:
1. Council authorizes the City Manager or designee to apply for up to $180,000 from the FMAAA to fund Senior Hot Meals Programming; and
2. Council authorizes the City Manager or designee to accept grant funds, conduct negotiations, execute, submit, and sign all documents including but not limited to applications, agreements, contracts, amendments, payment requests, and other documents which m ay be necessary for acceptance of the grant funding and implementation of grant-funded programming; and
