Dear Members of the City Council,
Following comprehensive discussions with and guidance from the City’s Planning and Development Department, we have carefully reviewed all materials and considerations related to the potential historic designation of the existing self-storage building located at 1844 S Cherry Avenue. This matter has come before the City Council on multiple occasions, and after thorough review and consultation, we, the property owner, remain opposed to the historic designation.
After further evaluation in consultation with our legal counsel, investors, operations team, and tax advisors, we have determined that pursuing historic designation is not in the best interest of our project.
We greatly appreciate the City’s transparency and assistance throughout this process and remain committed to working collaboratively with City staff to ensure that the property contributes positively to Fresno’s continued growth and development.
