A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRESNO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT
A GRANT OF UP TO $ 100,000 FROM THE TRUST FOR
PUBLIC LAND TO FUND MOVIES IN THE PARK EVENTS
IN SUMMER 2026 AND TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY
GARDENS (CITYWIDE) (SUBJECT TO MAYOR’S VETO)
WHEREAS, the Trust for Public Land announced the Central Valley Park Access and Activation Grant program in November 2025; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fresno (City) Parks, After School, Recreation, and Community Services (PARCS) Department is seeking authority to have the City Manager or designee apply for and accept funding to fund Movies in the Park events and to support community gardens; and
WHEREAS, the City, if successful, will enter into a grant agreement with the Trust for Public Land for implementation of grant-funded programming.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fresno as follows:
1. Council authorizes the City Manager or designee to apply for a grant of up to $100,000 from the Trust for Public Land’s Central Valley Park Access and Activation Grant program to fund Movies in the Park events and support community gardens; and
2. Council authorizes City Manager or designee to accept funding, conduct negotiations, execute, submit, and sign all documents including but not limited to

applications, agreements, contracts, amendments, payment requests, and other documents which may be necessary for acceptance of funding and implementation of grant-funded programming; and
3. This resolution shall be effective upon final approval. * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
