WHEREAS, the Central East High School Football Team has achieved a truly historic and unprecedented season, bringing extraordinary pride to their school, families, and the entire City of Fresno; and
WHEREAS, during the 2025 season, the Central East Bengals compiled an outstanding 14 –1 overall record, finished undefeated in TRAC League play (5 –0), and demonstrated excellence, discipline, and teamwork throughout every level of competition; and
WHEREAS, the team captured the Division 1-AA Central Section Championship, the Division 1-A Northern California Regional Championship, and ultimately claimed the Division 1- A California State Championship; and
WHEREAS, Central East High School concluded the season ranked among the top teams in California, earned statewide recognition for competitive excellence, and showcased the strength of Fresno’s student-athletes on the largest stage; and
WHEREAS, the success of the Central East Football Team reflects the leadership, dedication, and vision of Head Coach Biggs—who reached and surpassed the milestone of 100 career wins this season —along with the commitment of the coaching staff, student-athletes, families, and the Central East community; and WHEREAS, this championship season stands as a powerful example of perseverance, unity, and achievement, inspiring future generations of students while demonstrating what is possible through hard work, belief, and community support.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the Fresno City Council do hereby recognize the
“Central East Football -
California State Champions”
in the City of Fresno.
