Hello City Council and thank you for allotting time here,

I have submitted a proposal for a Hub Library to be located in the Manchester Mall. The mall is currently underutilized and has been so for the past 6 years if not more. Also during this time range there has been a population spurt and new apt buildings built - at least 4 between Fresno City College and BARSTOW Ave’s all off of N Blackstone. I believe the residents and school age children need this resource. The Tower Disttict would benefit as well. This would be an asset to an area that is often ignored and also area that does not have a library nearby.

The bus hub has direct access and would be much more suited and accessible for ALL residents and businesses. In preliminary inquiries residents and businesses alike welcome this window of opportunity as a place to go and seek assistance in job hunting, special programs, art installations, open conversations with fellow residents of diverse backgrounds, training, workshops, special screenings and book signings. This neighborhood is open for change and grow. Please consider this project in the budget. Library projects in the past have not come near this proposal in the sense that this is a new endeavor. There is already a satellite police station. It is the perfect spot and a new space for the current and future library staff will embrace. The Manchester Mall is a standing structure that would need redesigning. Let’s Build Fresno, Together, Indivisible for ALL!
