A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRESNO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT
A GRANT OF UP TO $ 200,000 FROM THE CALIFORNIA
PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION TO FUND DIGITAL
LITERACY EDUCATION AND DIGITAL ACCESS
WHEREAS, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) announced in November 2025 the availability of $30 million in grant funds for fiscal year 2025- 2026 through the California Advanced Services Fund (CASF) Adoption Account; and WHEREAS, the City of Fresno (City) Parks, After School, Recreation, and Community Services (PARCS) Department is seeking authority to have the City Manager or designee apply for and accept funding to fund digital literacy education and digital access; and
WHEREAS, the City, if successful, will enter into a grant agreement with the CPUC for implementation of grant-funded programming.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fresno as follows:
1. Council authorizes the City Manager or designee to apply for a grant of up to $200,000 from the CPUC’s CASF Adoption Account to fund digital literacy education and digital access; and
2. Council authorizes City Manager or designee to accept funding, conduct 2 of 3
negotiations, execute, submit, and sign all documents including but not limited to applications, agreements, contracts, amendments, payment requests, and other documents which may be necessary for acceptance of funding and implementation of grant-funded programming; and
3. This resolution shall be effective upon final approval. * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
