SUMMARY
Request to continue the General Plan Housing Element Public Hearing to a date uncertain to allow time to incorporate State Department of Housing and Community Development comments.
DISCUSSION
The City noticed the General Plan Housing Element Public Hearing for the February 1, 2022 City Council meeting, anticipating that the City would receive comments from the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) in time to prepare a revised Draft Housing Element incorporating HCD’s comments. Following the public notice posting, HCD informed that staff that the City would not receive their comments until January 28, 2022. This necessitates continuing the Public Hearing to a date uncertain to allow staff adequate time to revise the Draft Housing Element to address HCD’s comments. Staff will post a new public notice once staff has revised the Draft Housing Element and presents the Draft Housing Element to the Planning Commission for review and recommendation to City Council.
RECOMMENDATION
Continue General Plan Housing Element Public Hearing to a date uncertain.
