SUBJECT: CHIEF OF POLICE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDED AND RESTATED EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT
SUMMARY
Ratification of a First Amendment to the Amended and Restated Employment Agreement (First Amendment) between the City of Fullerton and Chief of Police, Robert Dunn II, providing a 5.25% increase to his annual salary, equal to the increase provided to the City of Fullerton Executive employees.
RECOMMENDATION
Authorize Mayor to execute proposed First Amendment increasing Police Chief Dunn’s base salary.

FISCAL IMPACT
The annualized increase of the First Amendment for Chief Dunn equals approximately $21,015. However, this creates no fiscal impact for Fiscal Year 2021-22 as the Fiscal Year 2021-22 budget already factored a 5% increase. The FY 2022-23 budget adoption will incorporate the annualized salary increase.
DISCUSSION
The City appointed Robert Dunn II to City of Fullerton Chief of Police effective June 29, 2019 and entered into an Amended and Restated Agreement effective August 3, 2021. This First Amendment will provide Chief Dunn a 5.25% salary increase effective April 30, 2022, commensurate with the 5.25% increase provided to all Executive staff members.
Chief Dunn’s Amended and Restated Employment Agreement contains no other changes.
