RESOLUTION NO. 2022-XXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FULLERTON, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION AND EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS OR USE OF GIFTS DONATED TO THE CITY IN FISCAL YEAR 2022-23 FOR THEIR INDENDED PURPOSES WHEREAS, the City of Fullerton receives cash donations or gifts for its various programs, community events and/or the purchase of essential supplies and materials that provide benefit and value to the community throughout the fiscal year.
WHEREAS, donors may direct donations for a specific purpose, program or purchase of various goods or materials.
WHEREAS, receipt and use of donations requires budget appropriations throughout the fiscal year.
WHEREAS, staff annually presents a resolution before the start of the new fiscal year to request administrative authority to make such appropriations to utilize funds in an expedient manner to streamline this process and alleviate time to receive donations and gifts and expend such funds.
WHEREAS, City Council wishes to authorize the expenditure of cash donations and use of gifts received for the specified or intended purposes or programs designated by the donor(s) without further City Council action subject to the terms hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FULLERTON RESOLVES AS FOLOWS:
1. City Council authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to approve the appropriation and expenditure of funds or use of gifts donated to the City in Fiscal Year 2022-23 without further action of the City Council, provided that the City uses such funds for the purpose intended and designated by the donor, or if not specified, in a manner that benefits the best interest of the community.
