SUBJECT: DELEGATES AND ALTERNATES FOR CAL CITIES ANNUAL CONFERENCE
SUMMARY
Cal Cities (formerly the League of California Cities) requests that City Council designate a voting delegate and up to two alternates for the Cal Cities Annual Conference held September 7 - 9, 2022 in Long Beach, CA.
RECOMMENDATION
Designate Council Members to serve as the City’s Delegate and Alternate Representatives at the Cal Cities 2022 Annual Conference.
City Council may wish to appoint a representative and alternate by determining who will attend the conference on Friday, September 9, 2022 and then follow a protocol to designate representatives by priority order of the Mayor, Mayor Pro-Tem and then Council Member seniority.

DISCUSSION
Cal Cities will hold its Annual Conference on September 7 – 9, 2022 in Long Beach, CA. Cal Cities membership considers and acts on resolutions establishing Cal Cities policy at the Annual Business Meeting portion of the conference, scheduled this year for Friday, September 9, 2022.
City Council must designate a voting delegate to vote at the Annual Business Meeting. City Council may also appoint up to two alternate voting delegates, one of whom may vote at the Business Meeting in the event the designated voting delegate cannot attend.
