DISCUSSION
K-9 Jax joined the Fullerton Police Department in 2015 and paired with Corporal Scott Flynn as his Canine Handler. During the course of his career, Jax had over 900 deployments including: numerous drug finds totaling over 170 pounds of narcotics seized, numerous felony apprehensions, over 230 surrenders and several article finds. When K-9 Jax was not fighting crime, he served as an ambassador for the Fullerton Police Department. He participated in community programs such as the Special Olympics of Southern California, Tip-A-Cop and National Night Out, as well as other presentations and demonstrations for Fullerton’s Citizen Police Academy, Cookies and Canines, Fullerton PD’s annual Open House and both the Orange County and Fullerton Police Canine Associations.

K-9 Jax and his handler have provided an asset to the Fullerton Police Department.  Their partnership has formed a bond that honed both of their skills as police officers and a canine team. Jax will live out his retirement with Corporal Flynn upon transfer of ownership from the Fullerton Police Canine Foundation. cc: City Manager Eric J. Levitt
