RESOLUTION NO. 2022-XXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FULLERTON, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE NOVEMBER 8, 202 2
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION AND OTHER SUCH MATTERS AS
PROVIDED BY LAW
WHEREAS, the City of Fullerton, California held and conducted a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, as required by law.
WHEREAS, the City gave notice of the election in the time, form and manner as provided by law, properly established voting precincts, appointed election officers and that in all respects the City held and conducted the election and the votes were cast, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the election laws of the State of California relating to general law cities.
WHEREAS, the County Election Department canvassed the returns of the election and has certified the results to this Cit y Council. T he City has received the results and attached to this Resolution
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FULLERTON, RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
District 3: The whole number of Election Day vote center ballots cast totaled 1,031. The whole number of vote- by-mail ballots cast totaled 4,753. The total number of ballots cast was 5,784.
District 5: The whole number of Election Day vote center ballots cast totaled 1,069.
The whole number of vote-by-mail ballots cast totaled 5,016. The total number of ballots cast was 6,085.
SECTION 2. The names of persons voted for at the election for Member of the City Council, District 3 are Shana Charles, Johnny Ybarra and Arnel Dino.
The names of persons voted for at the election for Member of the City Council, District 5 are Ahmad Zahra, Oscar Valadez and Tony Castro.
SECTION 3. Attachment 1 contains the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in the City to each of the candidates named above for the respective offices they ran for.
SECTION 4. City Council does declare and determine that: Voters elected Shana Charles as Member of the City Council, District 3 for the full term of four years and Ahmad Zahra as Member of the City Council, District 5 for the full term of four years.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall enter a statement of the result of the election in the Reso. No. 2022-XXX
records of the City Council of the City of Fullerton showing the whole number of ballots cast in the City, the names of the candidates voted for, for what o ffice each candidate was voted for, the number of votes given at each precinct to each candidate and the total number of votes given to each candidate.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to each of the persons elected a Certificate of Election signed by the City Clerk . T he City Clerk shall also administer to each person elected the Oath of Office prescribed in the Constitution of the State of California and shall have them subscribe to it and file it in the office of the City Clerk. Each and all of the persons so elected shall then be inducted in the respective office to which they have been elected.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
