RESOLUTION NO. 2023-XXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FULLERTON, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO ACCEPT GRANT FUNDS FROM DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE WHEREAS, the Fullerton City Council approves acceptance of 2022-25 Proposition 56 Tobacco Grant funds from the Department of Justice.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FULLERTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. City Council authorizes the Chief of Police of the City of Fullerton to execute the attached contract, including any extensions or amendments thereof and any subsequent contract in relation thereto.
2. City Council agrees that any liability arising out of the performance of this contract, including civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility of the grant recipient and the authorizing agency. The Department of Justice disclaims responsibility for any such liability.
3. City Council will not use grant funds received to supplant expenditures controlled by this body.
4. This award is not subject to local hiring freezes.
