SUBJECT: NOTICE OF JUST CAUSE FOR REMOTE PARTICIPATION IN LEGISLATIVE BODY MEETING
SUMMARY
Mayor Jung provides notification of need to participate remotely at the March 7, 2023 City Council meeting for just cause in accordance with Government Code Section 54953(f)(2)(A)(i).

DISCUSSION
Mayor Jung will attend a legislative trip in Sacramento on behalf of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California on March 7, 2023 and provides notice to City Council of the need to participate remotely for “just cause” as defined in Government Code Section 54953(j)(2)(D) as Travel while on official business of the legislative body or another state or local agency.
The member shall publicly disclose the presence of any other individuals 18 years of age or older in the room at the remote location with the member and the general nature of the member’s relationship with any such individuals at the meeting before City Council takes any action.
Any member of the legislative body may participate remotely for just cause for up to two meetings per calendar year.
Remote participation in this manner foregoes the requirements to post the remote participation location and public access to participate from the remote meeting location provided a majority of the legislate body meets in person at the noticed meeting location and the public has remote access to the meeting. cc: City Manager Eric J.
