SUBJECT: CITY COUNCIL RULES OF PROCEDURE AND DECORUM
SUMMARY
Council Member Zahra requested, supported by Council Member Charles, a review of the Rules of Procedure and Decorum for City Council Meetings during the February 21, 2023 City Council Meeting.
RECOMMENDATION
Discuss item and direct staff to prepare resolution to adopt amendments to the Rules of Procedure at a future City Council meeting, if needed.
CITY MANAGER REMARKS
This item was requested to review the Rules of Procedure at a future City Council meeting. Any changes proposed by City Council would be included in the Rules of Procedure either at the meeting or prepared and brought back in April.

DISCUSSION
City Council revised its Rules of Procedure and Decorum for City Council Meetings on January 3, 2023, adding language to emphasize when the public should comment on Consent Calendar items.
The Rules of Procedure and Decorum clarify procedural rules for the conduct of City Council meetings in the following areas:

Staff has attached the most recent Rules of Procedure and Decorum for reference.
Council Members Zahra and Charles requested this item to review the Rules of Procedure and provide direction to staff regarding any changes City Council would like to implement. Staff will draft a resolution incorporating any changes as directed for City Council adoption at a future meeting.
