WHAT IS A CFMP?
3 A Community Forest Management Plan is the framework of goals and objectives to manage and improve tree canopy A guide for those managing the community forest trees now and in the future Maximizes the vitality of the community forest by providing management guidelines and tools that enhance and preserve the city’s tree inventory
4 Fullerton’s CFMP was last updated in 1998
Due to environmental changes, the availability of new information, and as studies are performed, it’s important to review and make necessary changes The practice of tree care has changed considerably over the years as technology has improved. Better tools have been developed for field and office staff, and the public is more aware of the benefits of having the right tree in the right place The CFMP is designed to provide guidance to both City staff and Fullerton residents to work together for a healthy community forest WHY DO WE NEED TO UPDATE OUR CFMP?
