The City of Fullerton participates in various programs and initiatives to provide shelter solutions for the homeless population. City Council authorized the City Manager on June 20, 2023 to execute Purchase and Sale Agreement and all required documents for acquisition of real property located at 3535 West Commonwealth Avenue (APN 030-040-15) for $9,580,000 plus closing costs and escrow fees. Staff requests City Council authorization to accept the grant deed for the property as part of the real estate transaction. A certificate of acceptance is legally required to record the deed transfer and formally accept the grant deed.

A Certificate of Acceptance acknowledges the transfer of ownership of a property from one party to another. In this case, the City of Fullerton will purchase the property located at 3535 West Commonwealth Avenue from Dyer 19, LLC. The City of Fullerton will accept this transfer and acknowledge responsibility for the property upon authorization. This certificate ensures that both parties agree to the transfer and clarifies any existing rights or limitations on the property. It is an important step to finalize the ownership transfer and ensure legal clarity.
