SUBJECT: CAL CITIES ANNUAL CONFERENCE DELEGATES AND ALTERNATES
SUMMARY
Cal Cities (formerly the League of California Cities) requests that City Council designate a voting delegate and up to two alternates for the Cal Cities Annual Conference held September 20 through 22, 2023 in Sacramento, CA.
RECOMMENDATION
Designate Council Members to serve as the City Delegate and one or two Alternate Representatives at the Cal Cities 2023 Annual Conference.
CITY MANAGER REMARKS
This item is to provide an opportunity for the City Council to designate one Council Member to attend the conference and be a voting member, and additionally designate an additional one or two Council Members to attend the Conference as alternate voting member(s).

FISCAL IMPACT
The Fiscal Year 2023-24 Adopted Budget includes appropriation for City Council travel and meetings.
DISCUSSION
Cal Cities will hold its Annual Conference on September 20 to 22, 2023 in Sacramento, CA. Cal Cities membership considers and acts on resolutions establishing Cal Cities policy at the Annual Business Meeting portion of the conference, scheduled this year for Friday, September 22, 2023.
City Council must designate a voting delegate to vote at the Annual Business Meeting. City Council may also appoint up to two alternate voting delegates, one of whom may vote at the Business Meeting in the event the designated voting delegate cannot attend.
