RESOLUTION NO. 2023-XXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FULLERTON, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO
ACCEPT CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL GRANT FUNDS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FULLERTON HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the Fullerton City Council desires to undertake a project designated as Fullerton Police Department FY 2023-24 California Highway Patrol Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program, funded from funds available through the Cannabis Tax Fund Grant P rogram administered by the California Highway Patrol (hereafter referred to as CHP).
NOW THEREFORE THE C ITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FULLERTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. City Council authorizes the Chief of Police of the City of Fullerton to execute the attached agreement on behalf of the Fullerton City Council , including any extensions or amendments thereof and any subsequent contract with the State in relation thereto.
2. City Council agrees that the grant recipient and authorizing agency accept responsibility and any liability arising out of the performance of this contract, including civil court actions for damages. The State of California and CHP disclaim responsibility for any such liability.
3. The City shall not use grant funds received from this grant to sup plant expenditures controlled by this body.
4. This award is not subject to local hiring freezes.
