SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON (SCE) STREET LIGHT CONVERSION PILOT PROJECT 1 Overview
2 Fullerton has over 3,000 streetlights on antiquated high-voltage series circuits.
Transformers that power these circuits are no longer being manufactured and repair is becoming more difficult without available parts.
Conversion is expensive and unfunded.
SCE proposed this conversion pilot project to convert a circuit at no cost to the City.
City provided several potential circuits for consideration.
SCE evaluated, selected the Lillie circuit, drafted agreement, and began design.

Concrete poles will be installed relatively in the same locations as existing Lights will be powered by overhead conductors.

Recommendation
5 Direct staff to continue coordinating with SCE to finalize the agreement, design, and implementation of the pilot project.
Authorize the City Manager to execute Customer Owned Series Street Light System Purchase, and Conversion to LS-1 Agreement once finalized.
