Infrastructure and City Assets.
FISCAL IMPACT
City Council approved a budget appropriation for the state grant-funded Nutwood Avenue Bicycle and Pedestrian Mobility Enhancement project on October 3, 2023. Staff will submit this project in the 2025 OCTA FTIP update.
DISCUSSION
The FTIP lists multi-modal transportation projects identified in the Regional Transportation Plan prepared by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). FTIP projects receive Federal and / or State funds, have regional significance or involve non-motorized transportation, along with appropriate matching funds from the respective local agency. The FTIP covers a minimum four years with updates every two years. OCTA coordinates with SCAG to prepare the FTIP. The City provides information on City projects to OCTA.
The City has one new active project currently listed:
Nutwood Avenue Bicycle and Pedestrian Mobility Enhancement Increases connectivity on the Brea-CSUF-Santa Ana River Trail by implementing pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure along Nutwood Avenue to cross under SR-57.
The City must adopt a resolution affirming the commitment to implement the new project. The 2025 FTIP cycle includes Fiscal Year 2024-25 through Fiscal Year 2029-30. OCTA would certify the project through the SCAG FTIP Process once staff provides the adopted resolution.
