PURPOSE:
The purpose of this Administrative Regulation is to outline the process for the annual selection of the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem.
APPLICATION:
This regulation shall apply to the City Council's annual selection of the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem. The Mayor Pro Tem shall be elected annually through a majority vote, and the Mayor Pro Tem and Mayor positions shall rotate each December.

POLICY:
The City Council shall annually select the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem through a majority vote, and the positions shall rotate each December.
PROCEDURES:
The City Clerk shall keep a record of the City Council members for reference.
Upon election to the City Council, a new member shall be eligible for consideration in the annual selection of the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem through a majority vote.
If the position of Mayor or Mayor Pro Tem becomes vacant prior to the normal December election year transition, a new Mayor Pro Tem shall be selected through a majority vote.
