SUBJECT: SAFE AND SANE FIREWORKS SALES PERMIT APPLICATION FEE
SUMMARY
City Council reviewed the costs to process the safe and sane fireworks lottery and sales permit application fees on February 6, 2024 and directed staff to prepare a resolution to increase the fireworks sales permit application fee to $2,900.

FISCAL IMPACT
This item would increase the fireworks sales permit application fee from $2,326 to $2,900 and recover a portion of increased costs to provide services. This action would generate an additional $8,610 in fireworks sales permit application fees annually beginning Fiscal Year 2023-24.
BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION
City Council reviewed the costs to process safe and sane fireworks lottery and sales permit application fees on February 6, 2024. City Council directed staff to prepare a resolution to increase the fireworks sales permit application fee to $2,900, which would capture a portion of actual permit application costs. City Council also directed staff to present future lottery and sales permit application fee analysis for consideration with other City fees during the budget adoption process.
