BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
The FY 2023-24 Capital Improvement Program includes street improvements within the residential streets of the Costa Court project area as shown on Attachment 3. The street improvements include curb and gutter, sidewalk and cross gutters repair, ADA curb ramps and parking stall construction at Chapman Park, sewer repairs and street pavement grind and overlay rehabilitation.
Attachment 3 shows Pavement Condition Index (PCI) scores of poor and very poor with all PCI scores resetting to very good (100) at project conclusion.
The City received nine bids on May 6, 2024. Vido Samarzich, Inc. of Rancho Cucamonga submitted a $2,378,611.90 lowest responsible base bid which is approximately 11.6% lower than the $2,690,600.00 Engineer estimate.
The project would tentatively start June 2024 with anticipated project completion in early September 2024. Staff would notify impacted residents and businesses of upcoming project construction and potential impacts.
Staff prepared an environmental assessment in accordance with California Environmental Quality Act guidelines and determined the project is categorically exempt.
