SUMMARY
Staff requests City Council ratify Senior Advisory Committee direct appointments.
PROPOSED MOTION:
Mayor Dunlap make the following direct appointment:
Senior Advisory Committee partial term initial appointment – term ending December 31, 2024.
Council Member Charles make the following direct appointment:
Senior Advisory Committee partial term initial appointment – term ending December 31, 2026.
Ratify appointments.

This item is to request ratification of Mayor Dunlap and Council Member Charles appointments.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
Staff requests City Council ratify Mayor Dunlap’s and Council Member Charles’ Senior Advisory Committee appointments. City Council ratified Council Member Zahra’s Senior Advisory Committee appointment in April 2024. Following all direct appointments, a panel of the Mayor (or designee), Mayor Pro Tem (or designee) and a Park and Recreation staff member (in lieu of the Committee Chair for initial appointments only) will interview remaining applicants and recommend an at-large appointment to City Council for ratification. City Council will also ratify the Senior Club representative to serve on the Committee at that time.
The City Clerk’s Office has posted the legally required vacancy notice and forwarded copies of committee applications to City Council Members. cc: City Manager Eric J. Levitt
