Re: HIOZ Support
Dear Honorable Mayor Dunlap and Members of City Council, I am a 35-year Fullerton resident and I support the adoption of the Housing Incentive Overlay Zone (HIOZ). Fullerton is known as "The Education Community", yet we lack housing to support our current and future generations.

The evolution of technology and how we do business has changed dramatically over the years. We continue to see more closures of local retail and industrial centers. These underutilized areas are prime for changing zoning to provide much needed housing. It's sad to drive by the areas that have degraded significantly over the years. Bringing these areas to life with new communities is what Fullerton needs.

The HIOZ will allow builders like Brandywine Homes and other quality infill builders to develop neighborhoods for all generations. Fullerton will benefit not only from providing housing, but the developer fees will also help Fullerton's budget to help with road and infrastructure repairs.

This is a great opportunity for our new City Council to have a positive impact and move our City in the right direction. Please support the adoption of the HIOZ.

Thank you for your consideration.
