RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XXX

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FULLERTON, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING RESULTS OF THE NOVEMBER 5, 2024 GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION AND OTHER SUCH MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW W
HEREAS, t he City of Fullerton, California held and conducted a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 as required by law.
W
HEREAS, the City gave notice of the election in the time, form and manner provided by law, properly established voting precincts, appointed election officers and that in all respects the City held and conducted the election and votes cast, received and canvassed and returns made and declared in the time, form and manner required by State of California election law provisions relating to general law cities.

HEREAS, the County Election Department canvassed the returns of the election and certified the results to this City Council. The City received the results and attached to this Resolution.

W THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FULLERTON, RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. District 1: The whole number of E lection Day vote center ballots cast totaled 2,210. The whole number of vote-b y-mail ballots cast totaled 9,556. The number of all ballots cast totaled 11,766.
District 2: The whole number of Election Day vote center ballots cast totaled 3,483.
The whole number of vote-b y-mail ballots cast totaled 13,234. The number of all ballots cast totaled 16,717.
District 4: The whole number of Election Day vote center ballots cast totaled 2,888.
The whole number of vote-b y-mail ballots cast totaled 7,795. The number of all ballots cast totaled 10,683.
2. The names of persons v oted for at the election for Member of the City Council, District 1 are Fred Jung and Matthew “Matt” Truxaw.
The names of persons voted for at the election for Member of the City Council, District 2 are Nick Dunlap and Jan M Flory.
The names of persons voted for at the election for Member of the City Council, District 4 are Jamie Valencia, Viv ian “Kitty” Jaramillo, Linda Whitaker and Scott Markowitz.
3. Attachment 1 contains the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in the City to each of the candidates named above for the respective offices they ran for.

4. City Council declares and determines that: Voters elected Fred Jung as Member of the City Council, District 1 for the full term of four years, Nick Dunlap as Member of the City Council, District 2 for the full term of four years and Jamie Valencia as Member of the City Council, District 4 for the full term of four years.
5. The City Clerk shall enter a statement of the result of the election in the City Council of the City of Fullerton records showing t he whole number of ballots cast in the City, the names of the candidates voted for, the office each candidate ran for, the number of votes given at each precinct to each candidate and t he total number of votes given to each candidate.
6. The City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to each person elected a Certificate of Election signed by the City Clerk. The City Clerk shall also administer to each person elected the Oath of Office prescribed in the Constitution of the State of California, have them subscribe to it and file in the office of the City Clerk. The City shall induct each of the persons elected into their respective elected offices.
7. The City Clerk shall certify to passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
