BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
City Council considered several recommendations for changes to the Board, Commission and Committee structure on January 7, 2025. City Council deferred discussion regarding the Parks and Recreation Commission and Cultural Arts Subcommittee until February 18, 2025 to allow the Commission time to finish discussing enhanced recommendations.
The Commission completed discussion on January 13, 2025. City Council voted to move the continued item to the February 4, 2025 meeting on January 21, 2025 to allow City Council to consider reorganization before the February Parks and Recreation Commission meeting.
The January 7, 2025 recommendation proposed adjusting the Parks and Recreation Commission schedule to meet every other month and change membership to five directly appointed members and disband the Cultural Arts Subcommittee and redirect those duties to the Parks and Recreation Commission.
Staff attached the Parks and January 13, 2025 Recreation Commission Agenda Report with recommended enhancements for review.
