BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
The County of Orange awarded the Fullerton Police Department $79,300 through Proposition 69 to pay for critical DNA evidence storage freezers, crime scene investigation camera equipment and scene guard barriers. This funding would allow Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) employees and Police Service Representatives to attend updated DNA evidence training.

The Orange County Board of Supervisors approved funding on January 28, 2025 (Attachment 2). The funding would enable Police Department CSI staff to better identify, collect, analyze and store crime scene evidence using the latest scientific methods.
