BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
The Orange County Board of Supervisors approved allocating District Discretionary Grant Funds from Supervisor Doug Chaffee’s Office on February 11, 2025 to support local municipal programs that align with County and District priorities. The County issued two separate agreements with the City of Fullerton to formalize this support.
Agreement MA-017-25011163 provides $100,000 for ongoing revitalization efforts at Independence Park including recreation facility improvements and accessibility upgrades. This funding would supplement Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds allocated for this project.
Agreement (MA-017-25011162) provides $25,000 for the Motel Voucher Winter Program which provides temporary emergency shelter for unsheltered individuals and families during severe weather periods. The program prioritizes seniors, families with children and medically vulnerable residents.
Both agreements contain standard terms and conditions, including restrictions on the use of funds, reporting and recordkeeping requirements and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The City Attorney’s Office reviewed the agreements and found them acceptable.
Approving the recommended motion would authorize the City Manager to execute the agreements to accept discretionary grant funding from the County of Orange which supports key priorities in parks and homelessness response.
