The purpose of this letter is to provide additional information about Emergency Vehicle Group, Wheeled Coach, and how we can help your organization.

Celebrating its 20th year in business, Emergency Vehicle Group, Inc (EVG) is proud to serve those who bravely serve our communities. We are a single source provider of fire apparatus, ambulances, and specialty vehicles. We can offer turn- key solutions for all your needs.
EVG is headquartered at 2883 East Coronado Street in Anaheim, California. We operate a 15,000 square foot sales and service facility at this location, which is only five miles from Fullerton Fire Departments main facility and have sold over 2,000 emergency vehicles throughout California, Arizona and Nevada to hundreds of departments varying in size. EVG regularly works with fleet customers and vehicle orders ranging in size from a single unit to multiple unit orders. EVG has regularly serviced orders with 6-12 vehicles and has received and fulfilled multiple orders for over 20 vehicles.
EVG has dedicated Service and Parts Department staff that provide the technical knowledge, experience and equipment to perform all types of service on all ambulance and apparatus including pumps, aerials, chassis, hydraulic and electrical systems. Also, our lifts can handle vehicles up to 108,000 lbs.; so, no matter how big or small the job is, we can serve you. We have performed various services for local Municipalities and private service providers since the beginning.
EVG also operates three mobile service vehicles, one parts delivery vehicle, and employs factory trained, EVT and ASE certified technicians. We provide and offer continuing education to our service team and often extend the training to our customers. We would welcome representatives from the Fullerton Fire Department to tour our facility.
Our ability to provide the highest level of service is due to the experience of our many team members with many of them having been with us for a decade or longer. Our dedicated parts team and network of suppliers allows us to ensure we have the correct part available for any one of our many service technicians to complete the repair at our facility or in the field.
EVG is also the exclusive dealer of Wheeled Coach ambulances in California.

Wheeled Coach
Celebrating its 50 th year in business, Wheeled Coach, based out of Winter Park, Florida, is a pioneer in the ambulance industry. Being one of the largest ambulance manufacturers in the world, with a legacy of innovating industry-first features, technologies, and processes to offer some of the most revolutionary products on the market .
Wheeled Coach is trusted to build ambulances for the Federal Government and some of the largest Fire Departments in the country. FDNY chose Wheeled Coach to build their fleet of ambulances, because, in their words, no one else could offer the precision needed to build an FDNY unit. Every part, of every unit must be identical so it can be taken off one unit, and put onto another unit, and fit perfectly.
Wheeled Coach also offers industry leading safety features such as their highly reinforced but ultra-light SafeGuard box frame which creates one of the strongest, safest, and most durable ambulance bodies around. Wheeled Coach was in fact the very first ambulance manufacturer to have their bodies tested in an independent roll over crash test. It performed amazingly well. In the event of a crash, their exclusive SafePass Safety System gives crews a direct release tab for exiting the ambulance, while their Per4Max restraint system provides controlled deceleration to protect EMTs. The one-buckle design allows for easy on and quick egress without sacrificing the freedom of movement needed for uninterrupted patient care.
Their DuraSeam door construction eliminates extrusions typically found on ambulances by incorporating the door jamb into the one-piece, seamless side skin. By eliminating seams, they also eliminate crevice corrosion, enhancing the paint finish on the vehicle. All together this adds to the structural integrity and strength of the box, increasing safety for all passengers.
They are so confident in the solid construction of their interior DuraLite cabinets that they are covered by warranty for as long as the vehicle is owned by the original customer. Choose from CNC-cut, marine-grade plywood thermolite cabinets or customizable aluminum cabinets. Cabinet interiors are constructed with wooden dowels rather than the industry standard staples, and all exposed edges are heat-banded, and all hinge hardware is hidden for a smooth finish.
Wheeled Coaches’ anti-corrosion protection outperforms their competitors. Their proprietary nine-step ToughCoat paint process employs precision application and a revolutionary high-tech primer with adhesion and anti-corrosive properties never before achieved. Other layers of anti-corrosion protection include a one-piece aluminum skin; engineered pre-paint, pre-punched holes; and SermaGard ceramic-coated bolts. Combined, all these features make for construction that can stand up to the most demanding conditions.
Wheeled Coach also comes with a patented Cool-Bar AC system which outperforms most competitors by as much as 40 percent greater efficiency. This system uses an external condenser mounted on the front of the module body, improving airflow, access, and even allows for better warning light visibility.
There are additional features specific to the Wheeled Coach CitiMedic model. For the switching system, Wheeled Coach uses a RelayPlex system, vs many competitors point to point system. went to customers all over the country asking what they would like to see different, and Wheeled Coach listened. After engineering the new module, putting the stair chair, and backboards in the same compartment, and adding 2” to the overall length, moving from 146” box to 148” box, the usable storage has increased considerably.
EVG Advantage Program
EVG is pleased to offer the Fullerton Fire Department to our EVG Advantage Program that provides a complimentary vehicle inspection twice per year during the warranty period as well as a credit per vehicle to our Parts and Service Department that can be used however you deem in the best interest of your department. Base
Inspect the cot frame/base
Verify all welds intact, not cracked or broken
Verify no bent, broken or damaged components
Verify all fasteners secure
Verify no excessive damage to X-frame guards; replace if necessary Cables/wires
Verify no damage or pinching of wiring harness, cables or lines
Check routing(s) and connection(s), verify no hanging wires
Verify no damaged connectors; replace if necessary
Cylinder
Verify all fasteners are secure
Verify the cylinder is adjusted so the lock nut is tight and the cot stops moving when it hits the dead stops
Inspect for and verify that no hydraulic fluid leaks; inspect
the fittings and tighten as necessary
Extend cylinder rod completely and wipe down rod with soft cloth and household cleaner
Electronic Controls
Extend cot to raised position, measure and check load height
Verify “jog” function is operating
Verify high speed raise retract is working
Wear and tear
Verify no bent, broken, or damaged components
Verify no tears, cracks, or damage to the mattress, head section, or litter frame
Verify all fasteners are secure
Verify siderails and safety bar operate and latch properly
Verify head section, backrest, and foot section operate and lock properly
Adjust pneumatic cylinder for full range of motion

Verify all warning labels are present and legible
Hydraulics
Inspect motor mount and verify that all fasteners are secure
Verify that there are no hydraulic fluid leaks
Inspect the reservoir and verify that there are no leaks
Inspect hoses and fittings for damage or wear; replace as necessary
Verify the hydraulic velocity fuse
Manual back-up release handle
Verify the manual back-up release handle functions properly
Verify the manual back-up release handle returns to the stowed position
Verify the base extends/retracts smoothly when the manual back-up release handle is engaged
With 100 pounds or more on the cot, verify the cot does not lower when the manual back-up release handle is pulled
