This document compiles public comments received regarding the updated 2025 Fire Hazard Severity Zone (FHSZ) maps published by CAL FIRE on March 24, 2025. Comments were submitted through the Fire Department’s Fire Hazard Mitigation webpage and other outreach eff orts, and are provided for City Council review and consideration.

My name is David DeLeon and am a resident of Fullerton. I received the Severity Fire Zone prepared map. I scanned the QR code and more information page has been removed. I understand why the fire department is asking for this designation but would like to get a better understating as to how we got to this particular map. I would like to understand the impact to the surrounding community. In particular whether there will be a requirement to surrounding neighborhoods? The announcement had limited information and hard to read the map with neighborhood street names.

I think our house may be but the map does not have street names so hard to determine is we are with proposed 2025 FHSZ. We are deeply concerned about the amount of fuel that Coyote Hills has. I was witness of the fire located at the border of La Habra and Fullerton. The embers can fly a long distance, therefore, what do we need to do as a community to mitigate the hazard? Do we need to speak before the City Council or speak with Coyote Hills Supporters about fuel reduction as a community?

I respectfully request that Tiffany Pl. be excluded from this designation for the following reasons:
Effective Natural Barrier: Rosecrans Avenue serves as a major thoroughfare and provides a sufficient buffer that can act as an effective barrier in the eve nt of a wildfire. Open Space Maintenance: The open space located behind Tiffany Place is regularly maintained through consistent weed abatement and brush clearing. I believe that including Tiffany Pl. would be unnecessary for new risk area.
