ORDINANCE NO. XXXX – AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF FULLERTON, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING FULLERTON
MUNICIPAL CODE TITLE 1, CHAPTER 1.12.217 PERTAINING TO
RULES OF CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that changing the name of the Administrative Services Department to Finance Department more accurately reflects the department’s current function, responsibilities, and services: and
WHEREAS, the name change is intended to provide greater clarity and consistency in identification of the department and does not, by itself, alter the department’s existing powers, duties, responsibilities, staff or organization structure;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FULLERTON ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. City Council amends Fullerton Municipal Code Chapter 1.12.217 as follows § 1.12.217 FINANCE DIRECTOR AND FINANCE DEPARTMENT.
The use of the terms ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR, DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES, and ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT in this code, and in all other ordinances, resolutions and minute orders of the City Council, and all other official documents of the City, shall mean Finance Director, Director of Finance, and Finance Department.
SECTION 2: The City Council approves changing the name of the Administrative Services Department to Finance Department and directs the City Manager to take all appropriate steps to implement the change consistent with all requirements of the law.
SECTION 3: Severability.
The City Council of the City of Fullerton hereby declares that should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, term or word of this ordinance be declared for any reason to be invalid, it is the intent of the City Council that it would have adopted all other portions of this ordinance independent of the elimination of any such portion as may be declared invalid. If any section, subdivision, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have passed this Ordinance, and each section, subdivision, paragraph, sentence, clause and phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one (or more) section, subdivision, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase had been declared invalid or unconstitutional.

2 SECTION 4. CERTIFICATION.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be printed once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption in the Fullerton Observer, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Fullerton.
