1. Call Meeting to Order
2. Roll Call: Bob Balliet, Andrea Johnson, Robert Wilson, Phyllis Johnson, Libby Robbins.
Advisor: Monica Lopez – Parks & Recreation.
3. Public Comment: Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the audience may address the Commission on any item of interest to the public or any agenda item before or during the Commission's consideration of the item. Speakers shall restrict their comments to issues that are within the subject matter authority of the Commission and limit comments to a maximum of five (5) minutes.
4. Acceptance of Minutes: Minutes of Jul 28, 2022 & Special Meeting of Aug 15, 2022
5. Presentations: Mark E King, Galt Rotary Club; re: collaboration with COA on Bingo & other social activities for Seniors.
6. Old Business:
(a) Committee on Separation of GSRC from the City (Bob W) – tabled until further notice. (b) Amendment to COA Bylaws re: adding ‘advocacy’ to current Bylaws and Mission Statement – Status update (Monica L)
7. New Business:
(a) Activities for Seniors – COA’s Social Activities Sponsorship beginning Monday, Sep 12, 2022 – Status of Bingo, Ice Cream Social, ongoing activities, etc. (Bob B, Libby R, Andrea J). (b) Present samples of Flyer (order 500) to publicize the event & One Sign (24” by 36”) for entrance to Chabolla Center to draw in Seniors and seek approval for those two expenditures (present estimates) (Bob B).
(c) Present Estimate for Ad in the Herald to run for 2 weeks (maybe 3 weeks) and seek approval for its Expenditure (Bob B).
(d) Bus Trips for Seniors to new Casino in Elk Grove in the Fall (Bob W, Phyllis). (e) GSRC update (Tara & Linda).
