1. Call Meeting to Order – Meeting called to order at 10:05 AM
2. Roll Call: Bob Balliet, Andrea Johnson, Robert Wilson, Phyllis Johnson, Libby Robbins.
Advisor: Monica Lopez – Parks & Recreation.
3. Public Comment: Under Government Code Section 54954.3, members of the audience may address the Commission on any item of interest to the public or any agenda item before or during the Commission's consideration of the item. Speakers shall restrict their comments to issues that are within the subject matter authority of the Commission and limit comments to a maximum of five (5) minutes. Bob read statement.
4. Acceptance of Minutes: Minutes of Sep 22, 2022 & Special Meeting of Oct 13, 2022 -- Voted 5-0 to adopt.
5. Presentations: Galt Kabob & Gyros Restaurant – Hamitukan Hamady (Owner) -- Quoted price discounts for GSRC for even catering.
6. Old Business:
(a) Bus Trips for Seniors to new Casino in Elk Grove in the Fall (Bob W, Phyllis). -- Currently not offered. B. Wilson informed of possible donation grant from Jackson Rancheria that GSRC could apply for in future.
7. New Business:
(a) Bingo & Social Activities at the Chabolla Center for the Mondays of Nov 2022 and Dec 2022. -- November 14th – turkeys for prizes, maybe donated by Raley’s. November 21st – individual pies.
Next year possibly doing other games/crafts on Thursdays. (b) Discuss availing ourselves of more prizes for Bingo and seeking Business & organizational sponsorship and participation in the Senior activities. -- Motion was made for an expenditure, not to exceed $600, on gift cards to be purchased from local restaurants at $10 increments. The purchases will be made by L. Robbins and she will also attempt to have the value matched by the business (as a donation). (c) Status of Budget (Bob B)
-- COA members will be turning in more receipts for reimbursement. -- Motion to pay A. Johnson $69 for adapter from computer to TV for Bingo, adopted 5:0. -- Motion for expenditure for headset for Bingo games of no more than $35, adopted 5:0. (d) GSRC Protocol presentation for consideration and approval by the Commission (Bob B).
