The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chair Hood. Commissioners present: Hood, Jones, Gerling, and Rodriguez. Absent: Denier
Staff members present: Community Development Director Craig Hoffman, Attorney Anne Branham and Assistant Planner Stacy Schafer.
Public Comment from Juan Venegas speaking to the Commission about the local Carpenters Union.
INFORMATION/CONSENT CALENDAR
A. SUBJECT: Minutes of the February 9, 2023 Regular Meeting RECOMMENDATION: The Planning Commission approve the minutes of the February 9, 2023 Regular Meeting.
ACTION: Commission Jones motioned to approve the minutes of the February 9, 2023 Regular Meeting. Commissioner Gerling second the motion. Motion passed by Chair Hood, Commissioner Jones, Commissioner Gerling, and Commissioner Rodriguez PUBLIC MEETING:

PUBLIC HEARING:
A. SUBJECT: 2021-2029 Housing Element Site 18 Public Hearing RECOMMENDATION: 1) Receive a staff presentation; 2) Open public hearing and receive comments; 3) Upon closing the public hearing, recommend that the City Council adopt the resolution approving the Initial Study, Mitigated Negative Declaration, and the Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program for the 2021 - 2029 Housing Element Site 18 project; 4) Recommend that the City Council adopt the resolution approving the General Plan Amendment of 9.9 acres from C to HDR; 5) Recommend that the City Council introduce the ordinance approving the proposed rezoning of the 9.9 acres from HC to R4a; and 6) Recommend that the City Council introduce the ordinance approving modifications to the Galt Municipal Code for residential land uses.
ACTION: Staff Hoffman presented.
Chair Hood opened the floor to Commissioners for questions or comments.
Commissioners took turns discussing the item with staff and Attorney Branham.
Chair Hood opened public comment, there being none closed public comment.

Commissioner Rodriguez motioned to recommend that the City Council adopt the resolution pproving the Initial Study, Mitigated Negative Declaration, and the Mitigation Monitoring an Reporting Program for the 2021 - 2029 Housing Element Site 18 project. COMMENTS BY STAFF/DIRECTORS REPORT
Staff Hoffman updated the commission on all the current and projected projects in Galt and what the next two years look like for the City.
Staff Hoffman also answered all questions the Commissioners regarding items on the next agenda, construction site cleanups, and current building progress at subdivisions.
