Planning Commission Meeting
Anthony Pescetti Community Room, 455 Industrial Drive, Galt, California GALT Thursday, February 8, 2024 6:00 p.m.
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chair Hood. Commissioners present: Hood, Denier, Jones, Gerling and Rodriguez.
Staff members present: Community Development Director Craig Hoffman, Public Works Director Mike Selling, Attorney Anne Branham, Senior Planner Kristyn Bitz, and Associate Planner Stacy Schafer.
INFORMATION/CONSENT CALENDAR
A. SUBJECT: Election of Officers
RECOMMENDATION: Pursuant to Galt Municipal Code $2.70.060, election of a Planning Commission Chairman and Vice Chairman shall be conducted at the first regular meeting of The following year after a January Ist of each year.
ACTION: Commissioner Hood was nominated to Planning Commission Chair by Commissioner Gerling; approved unanimously. Commissioner Denier was nominated to Planning Commission Vice-Chair by Commissioner Rodriguez, approved unanimously.
B. SUBJECT: Minutes of the November 16, 2023 Special Meeting.
RECOMMENDATION: The Planning Commission approve the minutes of the November 16, 2023 Special Meeting.
ACTION: Commissioner Jones motioned to approve the minutes of the November 16, 2023 Special Meeting. Vice-Chair Denier second the motion. Motion passed by Chair Hood, Vice-Chair Denier, Commissioner Jones, Commissioner Gerling, and Commissioner Rodriguez.
PUBLIC HEARING:
A. SUBJECT: Notice of Preparation (NOP) Scoping Meeting for the Cal-Waste Solid Waste Transfer Facility Project
RECOMMENDATION: 1) Receive a presentation from staff 2) Open public hearing to receive comments from the public and Planning Commission; and 3) Close the public hearing ACTION: Staff Hoffman introduced the item.
Staff Selling explained to the Commission the California mandated regulations regarding waste.
Rod Stinson of Raney Planning and Management presented.
Chair Hood opened the public hearing and there being no public comment, closed the public hearing.
