Mission Statement
- Encourage the youth to participate in activities that are purposeful in building better citizens. - Stimulate community service in Galt.
- Encourage family participation in building civic unity. - Strive to emphasize the diversity in our culture by encouraging interaction within the community. - Recognize that it takes all the members of the community to sustain change for the betterment of our youth and families.
A. CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Chair Lallian called the meeting to order at 6:31 P.M.
B. ROLL CALL: Youth Commissioners Present: Akers, Camacho, Cullers, Oliveros Rivera, Woods, Smith (6:32), Lallian, Ortega, Sandhu.
Youth Commissioners Absent: Bowman, Fewell, Myrick-Smith Mentors Present: Council Liaison Farmer, Goerzen, King, Lampson.
Mentors Absent: Fjeldstad.
C. PUBLIC COMMENT: None.
D. PRESENTATIONS: None.
E. REGULAR BUSINESS:
1. Icebreaker Information Item
Mentor King had commissioners share one thing they were grateful for while being a youth commissioner.
2. Approval of minutes for the meeting of November 2024 Action Item Minutes were approved.

3. Blanket Drive Information Item
No updates were given.
4. Budget Report Information Item
Treasurer Oliveros Rivera shared that the budget was $6,623.16. The Youth Commission is to reimburse Mentor Lampson.
5. Yearly Projects Information Item
Woods shared that they would need help soon on the Elementary Project. Smith shared no updates on the Library Project. Camacho shared that a survey was made and would be sent out soon for the FFA Project. A sub-committee was created to plan for Random Acts of Kindness Week. Mentor Lampson shared that the A-Z Dinner would be on March 29th.
Mentor Goerzen shared that the Rotary Dinner would be on December 21st.
6. Lighting of the Night Parade Discussion Item
Commissioners decided to meet up at 4:30 P.M. and went over what decorations would be needed.
7. January Meeting Action Item
Commissioners discussed considering changing the meeting date due to only one certified mentor being present in January. Commissioners decided to take no action., and kept the meeting date.
8. City Council Update Information Item
Commissioner Smith updated the Council on the Youth Commission’s doings, and Smith and Lallian will attend the Council meeting on December 17th. Council Liaison Farmer updated commission on Council voting.
9. Future Agenda Items Information Item
Galt P.D. open house on December 11th.
Reimbursing Mentor Lampson.
Talks with Parks and Recreation.
10. Around the Horn/Give Your Gratitude Information Item Commissioners shared gratitude around the horn.
