MINUTES
ANTHONY PESCETTI COMMUNITY ROOM

MONDAY, JANUARY 26, 2026, 6:00 PM
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Vice Chair Chris Schamber.
Committee Members present were: Vice Chair C. Schamber, J. Hubert, G. Sauter and Non-Voting Member – Vice Mayor P. Sandhu.
Absent: Chair J. Selby.
Staff Members present were: Police Chief Kalinowski, Executive Assistant Wendy Masters and Public Works Interim Director Trung Trinh.
We pledged allegiance to the American Flag.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
1. We reopened this item to include the following:
Galt resident Frank Sclimenti discussed his concern of the intersection at Emerald Vista Drive and Walnut Avenue. He said it is a very dangerous intersection to cross and would like stop signs added. Vice Chair C. Schamber provided information on the topic. Public Works Interim Director Trung Trinh discussed this topic and met with Mr. Sclimenti after the meeting.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:
1. Approval of Minutes from November 24, 2025 meeting:
Correction mentioned: Next meeting is scheduled for “Monday”, January 26, 2026, instead of Tuesday.
Motion to approve by J. Hubert and seconded by G. Sauter Approved with a vote of 3-0.
2. Review of shootings on January 9 and 10, 2026:
Provided by Chief Kalinowski. Chief Kalinowski answered a question asked by Vice Chair C. Schamber.
3. Impaired Driving Educational Campaign:
Topic discussed by Chief Kalinowski. Our department does not qualify for this grant because our city does not have an “entertainment” district.

4. Clarification of speed limit on Walnut Avenue:
Chief Kalinowski provided an informational handout.
Public Works Interim Director Trung Trinh provided additional information and stated the posted speed limits will be corrected.
5. Review of preliminary police statistics for 2025:
Chief Kalinowski provided an informational handout and discussed the items listed. Chief Kalinowski answered questions asked by Vice Chair C. Schamber and Vice Mayor Paul Sandhu.
UPDATES: Chief Kalinowski said the next meeting is scheduled for March 23, 2026. • The Annual Report should be ready for review.
• The selection of the next Committee Chair and Vice Chair will take place.

With no further business, Vice Chair Schamber adjourned the meeting at 6:26 PM.
Motion to approve by J. Hubert and seconded by G. Sauter.
