Mr. Nguyen expressed that as former military and current resident, he is honored to serve Garden Grove as part of the Hope team. He gave a narrative regarding a 911 call from a family who were unaware of Be Well OC’s service in the community, the Hope team was dispatched and through an empathetic approach he and his team were able to deescalate a family experiencing emotional distress. He stated, as depicted in the PowerPoint presentation that Be Well OC’s Garden Grove team averages 161 calls per month with an average response time of 12.7 minutes.
Ms. Kim noted the service providers for Garden Grove include: 2-1-1 Orange County, City Net, Interval House, Stand Up for Kids, Mercy House, Illumination Foundation, Colette’s Children’s Home, Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance, Community Action Partnership of Orange County, and Families Forward.
