Subject: Adoption of a Proclamation celebrating May 1 - May 7 as Youth Week. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt the Proclamation celebrating May 1 through May 7, 2024, as Youth Week.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
At the request of the Americanism Chair of the Garden Grove Elks Lodge, Stephanie Janji, and since 2022, the Garden Grove City Council has supported Youth Week by adopting a Proclamation celebrating May 1 through May 7, as Youth Week.
Youth Week is an opportunity to celebrate Garden Grove’s Junior Citizens recognized by the Elks Lodge for their service to our community, state and nation.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt the Proclamation celebrating May 1 through May 7, 2024, as Youth Week.
