OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation commemorating the Month of May as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The City of Garden Grove has a long-standing tradition celebrating the City’s diversity, and the contributions of the Asian American and Pacific Islander people in celebrating their heritage by adopting a proclamation in recognition with the first in 1996, again in 2000, and annually since 2018.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt the Proclamation celebrating the Month of May as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
