Subject: Acceptance of Member Timothy Brady's resignation from the Administrative Board of Appeals. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to accept Timothy Brady’s resignation from the Administrative Board of Appeals.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Pursuant to Garden Grove Municipal Code 2.54.080 and 14.12.070, the Administrative Board of Appeals meets when called by the City’s Building Official to determine suitability of alternate material and types of construction, and provides final interpretation of the provisions of Building Codes, City Codes and ordinances; and reviews water billing disputes.
Administrative Board of Appeals Member, Timothy Brady, was appointed March 14, 2023, with his term ending December 2024. He submitted his resignation prior to the end of his term on August 3, 2024, due to moving out of the City.
Pursuant to Garden Grove Municipal Code 2.21.013, whenever an unscheduled vacancy occurs on a board, commission, or committee referred to herein, whether due to resignation, removal, or other cause, a s pecial vacancy notice shall be posted in the City Clerk's office, Information Centers of City Hall, and published in a local newspaper, within 20 days after the vacancy occurs. A final appointment to the board, committee, or commission to fill the vacancy shall not be made for at least 10 working days after posting of the notice.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact by this action.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Accept Timothy Brady’s resignation with regret.
