Subject: Acceptance of the Magnolia Park Improvement Project No. S-1311, as complete. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to accept Project No. S-1311 - Magnolia Park Improvement Project as complete.
BACKGROUND
On August 22, 2023, the City Council awarded a contract to California Landscape & Design, Inc., in the amount of $ 703,780 for the installation of the Magnolia Park playground . The project also included the installation of rubberized play ground surfacing, demolition and replacement of the picnic shelter, demolition and replacement of perimeter pool fencing , concrete work for the new exercise equipment, as well as the installation of ADA compliant paths of travel.
DISCUSSION
The contractor, California Landscape & Design, Inc., has completed the Magnolia Park Improvement Project in accordance with the plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Accepting the Magnolia Park Improvement Project No. S-1311 has no financial impact. The Project was funded by the Prop 68 Per Capita grant and Citywide Park Fee Funds. It was completed within budget. The retention payments will be released within the statutory period after the Notice of Completion has been recorded by the County of Orange.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:

Accept Project S-1311 Magnolia Park Improvement Project as complete; Authorize the City Manager to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Works Improvement and Work; and
Authorize the Finance Director to release the retention payment when appropriate to do so.
