Subject: Award a contract to Chapman Coast Roof Co, Inc. to replace the locker room roof at the Garden Grove Amphitheater. (Cost:$119,518) (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to award a contract to Chapman Coast Roof Co. Inc., to replace the locker room roof at the Garden Grove Amphitheater.
BACKGROUND
The Public Works Department (Facilities Division ) is responsible for maintenance of City Buildings. In 2019, the City contracted with a consultant to perform a comprehensive Facilities Condition Assessment (FCA) of City owned buildings. This assessment forecasts the useful lifecycle, as well as costs of our building’s repair and maintenance needs. Additionally, the assessment captured current building deficiencies and categorized them by Safety, Performance Integrity, Accessibility, Environmental, Retrofit Adaptation and Lifecycle Renewal. These categorie s are the primary reason or rationale for replacement, repair or corrective action.
DISCUSSION
Based on performance integrity information provided in the FCA, and our FY24-25 CIP plan, staff recommends replacement of the locker room roof at the Garden Gr ove Amphitheater.
The roof has reached the end of its useful service life and qualifies for replacement.
Specifications were generated and submitted for bid (IFB S-1333). Results shown reflect the three (3) lowest bids.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The cost to replace the locker room roof at the Garden Grove Amphitheater is $119,518.
Funding is budgeted and will be paid from the Building Rehabilitation internal service fund.
No additional appropriations are required.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Award a contract, in the amount of $119,518, to Chapman Coast Roofing Co. Inc., for the replacement of the locker room roof at Garden Grove Amphitheater; and Authorize the City Manager to execute the contract, including any minor modifications necessary, on behalf of the City.
