Subject: Adoption of a Proclamation recognizing the 2nd Week of October as Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Week. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation to proclaim the 2 nd week of October as Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Week.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
In 2018, the California State Legislature passed Assembly Concurrent Resolution (ACR) No. 283, adding the measure that annually designates the 2nd week of October as Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Week. With close to 18.0 square miles and nearly 200,000 residents, the City of Garden Grove Code Enforcement Team is charged with taking an active role in preserving an attractive and safe city by collaboratively working with the community and educating the public to comply with the Garden Grove Municipal Code. Adopting a Proclamation to recognize Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Week acknowledges the Garden Grove Code Enforcement’s hard work and dedication.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt the attached Proclamation to proclaim the 2nd week of October as Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Week; and recognize Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Week annually hereafter.
